• Responsible for the development of 5 subsidiaries abroad, particularly in the areas of strategy, underwriting, active portfolio and claims management (Specialty-focused Property, Surety, Accident & Health, Engineering and Liability portfolio of approx. 450 EURM with predominant broker channel) in France, Turkey, Austria and Italy

• Development of comprehensive guidelines, processes, monitoring instruments and tools for harmonization and quality improvement in submission funnel management, (re-)underwriting, pricing, discounting and reinsurance jointly with German carrier VHV Allgemeine (focus on LoBs Engineering, Liability, Guarantee and Property)

• Responsibility for channel management (focus wholesale brokers, MGA, digital platforms, banks)

• Responsibility for 3rd level referrals (submissions with high PML) and monitoring instruments (e.g., gross and net risk tolerances)

• Responsibility for M&A activities; transaction leader of one approx. 200 EURM acquisition attempt involving actuarial, commercial, financial, tax and legal Due Diligence of a French Specialty player – deep research in French PE-backed wholesale broker market

Head of Product Strategy, Property and Casualty Insurance (11 direct reports; up to 50 dotted line reports via projects)

• Responsible for all strategic issues across 25 Property and Casualty lines of business (portfolio of approx. EUR 1.5 billion, of which ca. EUR 350 million Accident & Travel); as part of this, responsible for the annual Group strategy process and representative in Group Strategy team

• Additional P&L and value chain responsibility for

◦ Largest distribution partners with delegated authority such as MGAs and large brokers – in this context, implementation of >25% p.a. portfolio rate adjustments and restructuring (portfolio of ca. 250 EURM) – multiple board level negotiations completed

◦ Surety insurance "Kautionsversicherung" (full value chain) – extensive business model transformation to suit needs of key customer segments like craftsmen

◦ 3rd level Underwriting (1 dedicated team) and discounting referrals for all retail lines

• Lead in Embedded Insurance, Open Finance, PSDII/PSDIII/FIDA activities, narrow collaboration with Open Banking/Payment players as well as technology providers (e.g., Adyen, apigee, apinity, Backbase), statutory publication organs for legally mandated announcements (Bundesanzeiger) and potential FIDA scheme providers from Banking and Insurance

• Responsibility for target customer segment management with focus on police, fire departments, crafts like bakeries, carpenters, roofers, heating installers as well as commerce and medium-sized businesses often via their representative bodies like unions or chambers in close alignment with Life & Private Health Insurance segments (e.g., on Dread Disease Insurance and corporate supplemental health insurance solutions) – development of dedicated "Keyperson" Accident product targeted at owners and Managing Directors of SMEs covering incapacity of work due to Accident, Illness or Mental Illness
