Stefan in wenigen Worten

Hello,
I‘m Stefan, a user researcher and UX designer with roots in human factors, cognitive ergonomics and automotive engineering.
With 8 years of experience in the field of user research, usability and UX, I have developed a comprehensive view on analyzing and designing the intersection between humans and technology.

In my design approach I identify the context of use, explore user needs, specify user requirements, and test prototypes iteratively.
Based on qualitative and quantitative methods, I gain attitudinal and behavioural insights on what users think and on what they actually do. I evaluate interactive systems with a holistic view to improve the quality in use, acceptance and overall experience.
An empathic design approach, pleasure in working with users, stakeholders and colleagues plus a broad variety of methods allow me to create relevant, useful and engaging user experiences.

I enjoy supporting research teams, companies and start-ups in diverse industries with the user’s perspective.

Technology Acceptance and Utility Evaluation

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is the national aeronautics and space research centre of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport, digitalisation and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures.
The group "Technology Acceptance and Utility Evaluation" analyses current and future technologies in the transport sector and their influence on mobility behavior. User requirements, effects and questions of acceptance by users are analysed and future technologies are evaluated with regard to their individual and systematic potential benefit. The current work focused on e-mobility and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), such as connected and autonomous cars.

As a graduate student at the German Aerospace Center in the Technology Acceptance and Utility Evaluation Section, I was responsible for the organization of international mobility projects, user field tests as well as usability tests. Based on the projects objectives, I analyzed market research and studies, designed and implemented surveys, questionnaires and usability tests to gain insights about the
- assessment of technologies regarding their potential effectiveness
- acceptance and usage potential of autonomous cars and e-mobility and
- effects of human-computer interaction in mobility contexts
