Pauline Heppeler

I work on the concept development and implementation of type and graphic design projects, developing custom typefaces and typographic systems alongside visual identity work, including logotypes, lettering, and design guidelines. My practice also includes editorial and book design, posters, campaign materials, and merchandise, with a focus on building cohesive visual systems across print and digital applications.

I have collaborated extensively with the music label Ourness, developing artist identities for Genesis Owusu and Sonic Reducer, as well as designing and rolling out campaign materials for Royel Otis. My work spans from initial concept development and art direction through to production-ready outputs, ensuring consistent and coherent application across all visual touchpoints.

During my internship at July Type, I worked across type design, production, and visual communication, primarily supporting the development of the typeface JT Mango. My main responsibility was extending the family across multiple weights and italics, while assisting with quality control and production workflows to ensure consistency and technical accuracy.

Alongside this, I designed and produced a type specimen as well as various communication materials, including merchandise, layouts, and printed matter. The role also involved concept development, corporate design, and print production, requiring close collaboration throughout the full process—from initial ideas to final output.

This work also led to the collaborative typeface JT Pulpo by Edward Dżułaj and myself, planned for release in 2027, and continues through our ongoing development of the font.
