Our work is led by Bryant-William Neira-Suarez, Co-founder and Chief Engineer for Wind Turbine Blades. He brings more than 17 years of international experience in rotor blade structures, including almost nine years at DNV Renewables Certification as Senior Engineer for wind turbine blades and FRP composites. During this period, he certified more than 200 wind turbine components and more than 50 wind turbine blades for European and Chinese OEMs and acted as key expert for FEA-related matters.

We support OEMs, certification bodies and engineering teams when structural questions must be answered clearly, technically and in line with international wind energy requirements.

    Main activities included D-FMEA and FEA consulting, rotor blade design and optimization, evaluation of structural details, assessment of manufacturing and damage cases, certification-related reviews for wind turbine blades and bolted connections, and the development of technical software and GUI tools.

    At DNV Renewables Certification SE, I worked as Senior Engineer for wind turbine blades and FRP composites, with a focus on structural analysis, certification and technical assessment of rotor blade structures and composite components.

    My work covered structural analysis of wind turbine blades, nacelle and hub covers, secondary FRP composite components, bolted joints, FRP and metallic material assessment, inspection of rotor blade tests and manufacturing, and the review of strength documentation for certification.

    I performed and reviewed advanced FEM/FEA assessments using ANSYS Workbench, APDL and ANSYS ACP, including linear and non-linear structural calculations, fatigue-relevant evaluations, failure mechanisms and certification-related plausibility checks.

    During this role, I contributed to the certification of more than 200 wind turbine components and more than 50 wind turbine blades for European and Chinese OEMs. I also acted as key expert for FEA-related matters and developed internal software tools to automate and optimize structural calculation workflows.

    In addition, I worked on research and development topics for rotor blade sub-components, including trailing edge and spar cap structures, in cooperation with Fraunhofer IWES.
