As an engineering manager, I balance my contributions between management and engineering. I aim to keep the team in a healthy atmosphere by promoting agile culture, guiding the career development decisions of my engineers, and making sure my team's processes are in alignment with the global goals of my organization. Engineering-wise, I am very happy with the technical aspects of this role, like architecture design, code reviews, QA measures, and process continuous optimization. The years I spent as an engineer in different areas always proved to be the right foundation for fulfilling my role's expectations.

I participated in three projects over about 6 years as senior consultant at Reply AG:

VW Mobile Device Key 2.0

The goal of the project is to provide a digital alternative to conventional car keys. I contributed to the development of multiple services that implement the business logic. We were focused on software quality regarding architecture, clean code, and testing.

VW Das WeltAuto 3.0

The new version of DasWeltAuto was planned to upgrade the platform using state-of-the-art technologies. The Web application was built again with Spring Boot and React and published on Heroku. I was responsible for BE development and API design and implementation.

VW Das WeltAuto 2.0

Das WeltAuto is an international online market for high-quality second-hand cars certified by Volkswagen. My task as a Consultant and Developer was to ensure high availability and responsiveness of the whole Web application.

Serving multiple countries and different languages with the same code base was a major challenge that we were able to address very well by applying a dynamic, configurable design, allowing also feature toggling between different markets.

My research focuses on predicting patterns in streams of complex events with semantic annotation.

Our research project at the Free University of Berlin aims to provide businesses with pragmatic solutions that benefit from recent advances in semantic technologies. My task in this project was to bring multiple areas of computer science together, like Process Mining, Machine Learning, Complex Event Processing, and Semantic Web, to build a process mining system that uses background knowledge to enhance the quality of process models discovered from event logs.
