Joshua Ruha

I’m Joshua, a Berlin-based senior brand designer and strategist, currently partnering with agencies on high-level freelance briefs where both strategic thinking and execution need to hold up.

Fifteen years in, I’ve led and contributed to work for Porsche (Formula E at BBDO and global rebrand at MetaDesign) and Bugatti at Interbrand, alongside building my own studio focused on brand systems for premium, performance-driven businesses scaling from one to five locations.

My approach is simple: I don’t separate strategy from design. I develop the positioning, build the identity, and carry the thinking through to final execution. That continuity tends to be what’s missing on most briefs and where the work either sharpens or falls apart.

I focus on creating brands that perform commercially as well as visually: clear positioning rooted in how the business actually operates, identity systems designed for longevity, and creative direction that gives clients something they can confidently grow into not out of.

I’m comfortable leading projects end-to-end, integrating into existing teams, or stepping in when a brief needs clarity and direction. I work quickly, keep the bar high, and bring senior-level judgment throughout.

Available for remote or Germany based collaborations, on a project or retained basis.
